"White Sandy Beach"
Yes, there is some white sand on the Big Island. This piece is very
loosely painted to try to capture this rugged, deserted place. The
point I would like to make here to any artist is to try to be loose!
Load your brush with multiple colors or shades! Wiggle the paint on
without looking. Then stop! Load up the brush, and do it again! My
teacher, Larry would say, "put the paint as if by magic; like God had
breathed the paint onto the canvas!"
One tip is to not keep stroking the canvas with no paint on the
brush. Painting loose is fun, It's interesting to see what happens.
Keep experimenting with techniques. And try combining techniques.
Create variety! Give an illusion of movement! You'll grow as an
artist and your work will show it! |
